Words that stayed
A running collection of lines I’ve picked up along the way. From books, articles, interviews, TV shows, and the occasional corner of the internet.
Some are beautifully written. Some are brutally honest. Most of them stayed with me longer than I expected, so I keep them here.
"Sometimes magic is just someone spending more time on something than anyone else might reasonably expect"
"There are lots of ways to be, as a person. And some people express their deep appreciation in different ways. But one of the ways that I believe people express their appreciation to the rest of humanity is to make something wonderful and put it out there"
"I’m not so dominant that I can’t listen to creative ideas from other people. Successful people listen. Those who don’t listen, don’t survive long"
“You don’t have to understand life. You just have to live it” - Midnight Library
“What grows together, goes together” - Bear
“Travel changes you. As you move through this life and this world you change things slightly, you leave marks behind, however small. And in return, life - and travel - leaves marks on you. Most of the time, those marks - on your body or on your heart - are beautiful. Often, though, they hurt” - Anthony Bourdain
“Good writing is about telling truth” - Bird by Bird
“An ounce of sauce converts a multitude of sins” - Kitchen Confidential
“All craft is a slow currency. It is built through giving hours and hours of not just time but soul. And soul requires you to be in a zone. You know when you’re giving your soul into something” - Sunil Chhetri // Kunal Shah
“It’s not done until it’s shipped”
“Always keep shipping”
“Today’s disappointments are tomorrow’s blessings”
