Solo builder notes #4

Solo builder notes #4

I’ve been away for a while.

Mostly because I’ve had my head down building Momentum, my latest app, and the one I’m most proud of so far. I meant to write this update much earlier, but the days kept slipping. So this a small catch-up on everything that’s happened since the last issue.

Highlights

💰 Highest monthly revenue in May & June

This honestly came as a surprise. I didn’t run any campaigns, didn’t post much on socials, and barely marketed my older apps. I was focusing only on Momentum.

But somehow, revenue hit an all-time high across all my apps. Maybe the compounding is finally kicking in? Hope to hit more highs 😄

📱 Momentum is live on AppStore

Momentum went through a successful TestFlight run and finally launched on the App Store this week.

I’ve poured a lot into this app. It’s a habit tracker where you use photos, not checkboxes. Every time you show up, take a picture. Momentum turns it into a recap or video. I’m excited to see how people use it.

🎤 Spoke at Friends of Figma, Bangalore

I gave a talk about my indie hacking journey and Building without permission in early May. The crowd was amazing, and the conversations that followed were even better. Grateful for the opportunity to share and connect.

🛠 Built a tiny plugin at Groww

One of those “scratch-your-own-itch” tools. It started as a fun experiment and ended up being actually useful. Love when that happens.

🇺🇸 Got my US B1/B2 visa stamped

After months of paperwork, I finally got my tourist visa approved. Hoping I get to attend Figma Config or WWDC next year 🤞

📚 Books I read
  • Yellowface – 3.5/5

  • Tiny Experiments – 4/5

Lowlights

⏳ Timelines stretched

I thought I’d launch Momentum in early May. That turned into late May. Which turned into… well, June. I missed a few deadlines and had to cut the scope multiple times.

That’s it for now.
The last few months were quiet on the outside, but a lot happened behind the scenes.
Hoping to write more regularly again, but no promises. I’m still figuring it all out.
